Raymond Bulatao

Raymond Bulatao started his dance life as a b-boy, training at his high school dance club with local b-boy Sean Paul "Pha-rush" Arceta. Two years later, Sean’s sister, Layne Arceta, then introduced Raymond to hip-hop choreography. After graduation, Ray began to make the transition to choreography when he was offered a position as the main dance club teacher at Harry Ainlay High School.

Ray BulataoIt was not until 2009 when Ray joined Edmonton dance crew, attention, that Ray became a full-fledged dancer. For the past few years, Ray has performed with attention at several benefit concerts (Little Hearts Big Dreams, Stand Up for Love, Forever Young, A Friend In Need is Japan Indeed, Too School for Cool). During this time, Ray also trained under Carlo Atienza (Faculty, 3D, White Chocolate) for two years, and danced in many hip hop teams in the city, such as 3D Company (2009-2010), Exposure (2009-2011) and TrailMix (2010-2012). Currently, Ray is an active member of Edmonton hip hop dance group NXG Company (directed by Alexander Chung), co-choreographs an all-male group called Menergy, and performs with his original dance family, attention, who recently won 2nd place at Represent Dance Competition on April 2012.

Throughout his dance career, Raymond Bulatao has had the opportunity to train under many up-and-coming choreographers and dancers, his most influential ones would be: Jerome Esplana (Faculty, 247 Company), JP Tarlit (Faculty), Christopher Martin (Choreo Cookies, BreakFX), Mariel Martin (Kingdom Made, Choreo Cookies), Lyle Beniga (Movement Lifestyle), and Jun Quemado (Mos Wanted Crew, Movement Lifestyle). Not only does Raymond Bulatao believe that good dance training is a must for a dancer, but also a teacher, as he wants to pass down as much knowledge and experience to the younger generation of dancers.

Raymond Bulatao's style of dance involves intricate movements that follow the character and heart of the music that inspires him. He likes to challenge his fellow dancers to find their own style in the dances given to them, and continue to inspire students everywhere to maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for what they do.

Candace Kalwajtys

Candace has always had a great passion for the performing arts. Starting at the age of 3, she formed a love for gymnastics and dance. As her gymnastics journey moved into competitive levels, Candace started attending Victoria School of Performing Arts.  Her passion for dance and performing on the stage grew which led her to decide it was time to dedicate her life to dance.

Thoroughly studying the art of Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Tap and Musical Theatre, she received numerous opportunities to travel and work with top choreographers around North America and she received many awards and scholarships throughout her training.  Candace started to attend Vimy Ridge Academy and Shelley's Dance Company and took her level of commitment to dance to new heights.  Having the opportunity to train longer hours and under the instruction of some of Edmonton's most influential instructors Candace developed a strong appreciation and understanding for the art form through the knowledge and passion that has been passed down to her.

Realizing at an early age she also had a passion for working with children and youth, Candace chose to dedicate her life to teaching dance and gymnastics.  She has now been sharing everything she knows with her students for the past 9 years and couldn't see it any other way. To provide her students the most effective training, Candace continues to educate herself and stay current in her teaching methods.;

With her strong gymnastics background it was natural for her to develop an interest in AcroDance. Most recently Candace has started her Certification as a Junior and Intermediate Registered Acrobatique Instructor, as well as Level 1 Certified with NCCP - gymnastics division.

Candace is so excited to bring her knowledge and passion to all her students, and can't wait to be apart of their journeys!
